A specialized meeting to introduce the Sharif University of Technology's Micro Nanofab Clean Room and the closing ceremony of the National MEMS Chip Design Event will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2024 at the Tehran International Exhibition Center. This meeting, which is being held in cooperation with the Nano and Micro Technology Development Headquarters and the Central Laboratory of Sharif University of Technology, will include introducing the capabilities of the Sharif University of Technology's Micro Nanofab Clean Room and acknowledging the winners of the MEMS Chip Design Event.
In this meeting, which will be held from 10:30 to 12:30, in addition to introducing the Sharif University of Technology's Micro Nanofab Clean Room by the Technical Director of the Clean Room, Dr. Ali Khademi, and a speech by Engineer Seif on behalf of the Chip Design Event jury, an award ceremony will be held for the winners of the event with the presence of officials from the Nano and Micro Headquarters and the National Microelectronics Program. Also, at the end of this meeting, a tripartite memorandum of understanding will be signed with the aim of training specialized human resources between Sharif University of Technology, Iran Microelectronics and Photonics Campus, and the Nano and Micro Technologies Development Headquarters.
The call for the National Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) Chip Design Event was published on January 20, 1402, with the aim of promoting practical and experimental familiarity with micro and nano device manufacturing technology, identifying talented teams from all over the country, and supporting them. After a significant reception from registered teams, the deadline for submitting initial designs and proposals was extended until the end of May 1403, and the final results were announced in September. By providing infrastructure for manufacturing, testing, and packaging chips, this event created a platform for commercialization and supporting innovation in this field. The competition included two main challenges: designing a barometer and a single-axis accelerometer, which were held with the participation of 15 groups. Finally, the top and deserving teams were encouraged with prizes of 100 and 60 million Tomans.
The Sharif University of Technology Micro Nanofab Clean Room, which was put into operation in 1401, is equipped with the most advanced equipment in this field with an area of 120 square meters. This center, which is a subsidiary of the Laboratory Services Center of Sharif University of Technology, was established with the aim of providing services to researchers, students, and industries in the field of nano and micro technologies and has classes 1000 and 10000.
